Local Parks & Gardens

Derby Arboretum (Arboretum Park)

Arboretum Square, Rose Hill St, Derby DE23 8FR, UK – 01332 640789

This is a lovely attraction to the Normanton area & the park is perfect for young children however SOME of the people that use the park have ruined it. There is so much litter lying around in the evening & some people families enjoy picnic, take away & snacks in the park but don't clean up after themselves. I have seen used needles lying around, ice creams, cans, alcohol, used food wastage thrown on the floor. These users need to get there act together & start cleaning up after themselves & help retain the attraction & start acting like a part of the community. A few more new bins would be nice to.

Lovely park to sit & relax in with Beautiful surroundings, plenty going off for the children playground football ect

Darley Playing Fields

Derby DE21 4AY, UK – 01332 640789

Really nice walk, good variation of River walk and playing fields, lot of work going on at the minute to make it even better. Nice tea Room near the rise gardens a well.

Great place for walking your dog. Making new car park great work done on the flood banks

Darley Park

Darley Park Rd, Derby DE22 1DA, UK – 01332 640789

For starters, there is free parking all around the place. That to me is one of the main bonuses of coming to this park. There are numerous paths going all around the park with plenty of grass. Just up from one of the main entrance is a wonderful little cafe that sells tea, cake, ice-cream etc with plenty of tables, chairs and parasols to keep you in shade if needed. I bring my dog here so there's lots of interesting little routes she can find her way around here. Also at the café they provide numerous drinking bowls for dogs. Again, not something that many of these type of parks do so it makes it stand out as one of the better ones.

A park which is known for Dog walkers and Joggers. There is a cafe here run by lovely people, it stops serving food at 4. Toilets here too. A river runs through it, plenty of access points so your dog can cool off. A Wild flower meadow and Woodland areas, a flower garden and the paved areas are wheelchair friendly.

Great website!. Click below to find gardens open during the year around Derby or Derbyshire. There are photos and lots of detail about the garden.
